Arain Worldwide Community turns this bond into a proper global platform.
ہماری تاریخ — ایک نظرOur Origins — What the Record Says
ہر برادری کی اپنی ایک کہانی ہوتی ہے۔ ایک مشہور روایت یہ ہے کہ ہمارے بزرگ شامی عرب سپاہی تھے جو آٹھویں صدی عیسوی کے آغاز میں محمد بن قاسم کے ساتھ سندھ آئے۔ میاں محمد شاہد کی تحقیق کے مطابق تاریخی ریکارڈ ان باتوں کی تائید کرتا ہے:Every community carries a story of where it came from. A widely held tradition says our forefathers were Syrian Arab soldiers who came to Sind with Muhammad ibn al-Qasim in the early eighth century. According to research by Mian Mohammed Shahid, this is what the historical record supports:
لفظ "راعی” کا مطلبThe Meaning of al-Rāʿī
عربی لفظ راعی کا بنیادی مطلب چرواہا یا نگہبان ہے — یہ بات مضبوط بنیاد پر قائم ہے۔The Arabic word rāʿī means shepherd or guardian — this is firmly established.
سندھ کی فتح میں شامی دستےSyrian Troops in the Conquest of Sind
بلاذری کے مطابق حجاج نے چھ ہزار شامی جنگجو محمد بن قاسم کے ساتھ بھیجے؛ مگر کسی ارائیں دستے کا نام مذکور نہیں۔Al-Balādhurī reports six thousand Syrian warriors sent with Muhammad ibn al-Qāsim; no Arain contingent is named.
برطانوی ریکارڈBritish Records
ابٹسن (1916) کے مطابق ارائیں بہترین کاشتکار تھے اور جالندھر، امرتسر اور لاہور ان کے مضبوط علاقے تھے۔Ibbetson (1916) records Arains as admirable cultivators, strongest in the Jalandhar, Amritsar and Lahore divisions.
مشہور نسب نامے پر سوالThe Best-Known Genealogy Is Questioned
نسب نامہ "سلیم التواریخ” (1919) کو ایک ارائیں مؤرخ علی اصغر چوہدری (1963) نے تاریخوں اور شواہد کی بنیاد پر چیلنج کیا۔The genealogy in Salim al-Tavarikh (1919) was questioned on grounds of dates and evidence by an Arain historian, Ali Asghar Chaudhry (1963).

کچھ ارائیں خاندانوں میں عرب نسل ہونا تاریخی ریکارڈ سے ہم آہنگ ہے، مگر ثابت شدہ نہیں۔ کسی کے پاس پرانے شجرے یا دستاویزات ہوں تو ضرور رابطہ کریں۔Arab ancestry in some Arain families is consistent with the record but not proven. ارائیں آجArains Today
آج ارائیں زیادہ تر پاکستان (پنجاب اور سندھ کے کچھ حصوں) میں، بھارت کے مختلف علاقوں میں اور برطانیہ جیسے ممالک میں آباد ہیں۔Today most Arains live in Pakistan (Punjab and parts of Sindh), with communities in parts of India and in countries such as Britain.
